Senior Catastrophe Risk Analyst, Reinsurance Analytics, London
Aon is currently recruiting for an experienced Catastrophe Risk Analyst to join our dynamic UK Property Analytics team in London! This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our London office.

What the day will look like
You will be the client analytics lead on the interaction across multiple cat and non-cat reinsurance analytics projects and placements for Global Reinsurance Clients. This will include:
- Leading client portfolios analysis using catastrophe analytics and apply reinsurance structures to these portfolios, as well as client interaction on pressing topics like View of Risk, Climate Change, Inflation, Event Response and Placement Analytics.
- Leading conversations with reinsurers, brokers and actuaries to understand exposures, review modelling results, explain modelling limitations and resolve issues promptly specific to your clients.
- Advising clients on potential incurred losses, post-event and on risk management basis.
- Collaborating with multiple Analytics teams across geographies and time zones. Participating in corporate practice groups and committees related to cat modelling and cat risk management.
- Driving process efficiencies by embedding technology, and ensuring modelling processes are aligned with Aon best practices.

Aon's Catastrophe Analytics team is the best regarded of its kind in Europe. The team sits within Aon Reinsurance Solutions and provides clients (Global Reinsurance Companies, syndicates and reinsurers) with advice on their exposures to natural disasters such as windstorms, floods and earthquakes.
Comprised of enthusiastic and team-oriented individuals, the UK Property team is continuously looking for ways to evolve our clients’ understanding and view of catastrophe risk. Working closely with our brokers, academic partners and our model evaluation specialists enables us to perform and draw from expert analysis and experience to make better decisions for our clients.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
You will be dynamic and driven, and able to generate ideas. You will have strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, complemented by a solid grounding working with and interpreting statistics. You will require good attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and ability to lead teams and prioritise work within a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in catastrophe analytics for insurers, reinsurers, or similar financial services.
- Excellent academic qualifications, ideally in natural hazards, science, maths, or equivalent.
- Experience with vendor models (Moody’s RMS, Verisk essential, other models an advantage) and Catastrophe Model Validation and Evaluation.
- Strong communication skills (speaking, listening, and writing) with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts.
- Experience in modelling complex Global accounts is an advantage.
- Strong computer skills in MS Office, Tableau or PowerBI experience beneficial, programming skills an advantage.
